I'd say Wipeout actually feels extremely awkward the first few times you play it until you learn how to air-break around corners and do barrel rolls, not to mention skipping entire parts of the tracks from well times uses of boost and gliding. It's not one of those racing games that feel good from the start. That said, like many games from the bygone era, Wipeout has a steep learning curve.
